Originally from Miami this Brazilian-American performer grew up with her toes in the sand and her nose in a script. Equipped with the gift of gab, Emily studied Musical Theatre in high school and later went on to attend the University of Florida where she attained her BFA in Musical Theatre and a special certificate in the art of incessantly asking, "oK... bUt whHy?"

She has a deep-seated desire to understand and be understood. This inclination manifested the following

Artistic Statement: 

"I have a profound yearning to reinvent the stories of women who were written to be unlovable.

 Give me your mean girls, your sex workers, your domineering antagonists, femme fatales, witches, “bitches” and let me give them their moment in the sun. Their time to be perfectly imperfect.

Just like us. Just like me."

When she's not franticly absorbing information about this weeks hyperfixation (it's ego-disillusion as she writes this bio)

she likes to indulge in a massive mug of espresso, a ferociously fuzzy sweater and a stupidly tight hug that lasts just a few seconds too long.
